Resolution - : TO SUPPORT AT RISK STUDENTS

WHEREAS, LULAC is our nation’s oldest and largest Hispanic civil rights organization addressing education, employment and civil rights issues in the United States of America since 1929; and

WHEREAS, Houston and Dallas Texas have raised some concern of LULAC members in “Attentive Education Programs”; and

WHEREAS, Latino children who are placed in these “Attentive Education Programs” in public schools; and

WHEREAS, LULAC believes that a conducive education environment is needed; and

WHEREAS, LULAC calls for public schools across the country and in particular the HISD and DISD school districts to create efficient educational programs to meet the needs of the learning disabilities and behaviorally challenged Latino students; and

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the League of United Latin American Citizens will continue to fully and actively support development of other methodologies to foster better education for Latino children who considered “At Risk”
