Resolution - Encourage Local Chapters to support the efforts of the BTCs.

While Building and Construction Trades Councils throughout the nation continue their efforts to improve wages, benefits and working conditions of the working class by the implementation of Project Labor Agreements, Construction Careers Agreements and Green Job Agreements.
 
WHEREAS, the number of Latino workers continues to increase in the construction industry; and
 
WHEREAS, the utilization of Labor Agreements is intended to protect workers from abuses and exploitation; and
 
WHEREAS, these Labor Agreements make it easier for workers to organize and learn about their employment rights; and
 
WHEREAS, the goal of the BTCs is that every worker should have decent wages and health insurance for their families; and
 
WHEREAS, the Helmets-to-Hardhats BTC’s program provides employment opportunities in construction for returning veteran; and
 
WHEREAS, we support collective bargaining and the right to organize, pursuant to Section 7 of the National Labor Relation Act
 
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that LULAC encourage its Local Chapters to support the efforts of the BTCs;
