Public Colleges and Universities

WHEREAS, LULAC pursues the higher education of our Latino community; and

WHEREAS, LULAC Young Adult members across Texas and the nation are facing extreme issues about the education and immigration; and

WHEREAS, LULAC must show support for our Collegiate members; and

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we move to support the following initiatives:
• That LULAC advocate for change in State and National Laws to ensure that all Public Colleges and Universities undergo a full Financial Audit.
• That LULAC ensure that any proposed tuition increases at the public colleges and universities are justified (Common tuition rates)
• Education Board/Agency- Representation Young Adults in all LULAC and for all boards and organizations.
• Immigration and education issues (Dream Act and HB 1403)
• Remedial Course and preparatory course to keep Latinos in schools.
