WHEREAS, TEA Code requires in article 39 that the school reports longitudinal dropout rates in Texas, possibly other state education systems do also; and
WHEREAS, IDRA, LULAC, MALDEF, "no more excuses." The final Hispanic reports commission by the President and the Congress attests to and affirm rates of upwards of 40% longitudinal; and
WHEREAS, TEA only reports 1.6 to 2.3 percent dropout rates which is a small, but partial picture of the whole.
WHEREAS, there is a genocide for our ethnic children in America and LULAC is one of the advocate leaders of our children,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the League of United Latin American Citizens lobbies the Senate and the House Legislatures across the states and at Washington to enforce proper just and judicious adherence to existing reporting Laws and create Legislation to report correct dropout percentage everywhere.
