Washington, D.C. - The League of United Latin American Citizens proudly congratulates Mignon Clyburn on her nomination to the Federal Communications Commission.

“The nomination of Mignon Clyburn definitely represents a step in the right direction for the development of telecommunications policy in this country,” said LULAC National President Rosa Rosales.

As the Federal Communications Commission works through its agenda, including issues of critical importance to our communities like the development of a national broadband plan and the creation of new media diversity and ownership rules, we think that Ms. Clyburn will be able to represent the minority perspective in a way that serves the best interest of our communities and our nation.

LULAC congratulates Mignon Clyburn’s nomination as the first African American woman to serve on the Federal Communications Commission, and we welcome the opportunity to work with her.

The League of United Latin American Citizens advances the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, health, housing and civil rights of Hispanic Americans through community-based programs operating at more than 700 LULAC councils nationwide.
